Item #M135C - Stubben 17" Genesis CS Deluxe with Biomex Seat, Grippy Leather
Stubben Genesis Deluxe Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Seat measures approximately 17" by our tape. This is the Deluxe model, which features extremely soft, supple, grippy leather, and upgrade from the standard model (This saddle has leather from an especially nice batch, comparable to the calfskin leather on more costly saddles.) Biomex seat offers cushioning under the rider's seat bones with less bulk in other areas for less weight overall and a more streamlined saddle. According to the manufacturer, "Stübben has partnered with Biomex Technology Center at Klinic Gut, a leading hospital for orthopedics and sports medicine in Switzerland, to create an innovative seat design that can greatly reduce a rider's back pain. Introducing the Patent Pending Stübben Biomex." For more information on Biomex, please visit this very informative link: http://stubbennorthamerica.com/biomex-seats/.
Features padded flap with a beautiful S-curve design that puts thicker padding right where you need it most to press into while keeping it slim in areas where you need it less. Another great feature is that the flap is slightly padded behind the leg as well as in front of the leg, in order to create a nice channel for your leg to settle into. Features integrated panels for less bulk between horse and rider. Front and back blocks. Has both billet guards. Tree is stamped 31cm (also known as the "D" tree in this brand), which is considered a medium/wide type of fit. Flap measures approximately 13.5" in length from the top of the stirrup bar where the buckle sits to the bottom of the flap and approximately 13.5" in width at the widest part, a typical standard flap length for a 17" seat saddle, with a forward flap position.
According to Stubben, the "CS" component of the model indicates a half deep, slightly wider seat, square cantle, forward flap, longer tree points, front block (and this one has the rear block option). Stunning condition. Looks like a demo saddle. I do see slight puckering in how the saddle was made on the seam where the side of the seat meets the panels where they curve around the side (this is not from wear or use, just an aesthetic note about how the manufacturer made the saddle, but I did want to point it out.) Retail approximately $3,000. Try ours for about half the price and enjoy the look you would expect from a new saddle. To get leather this buttery, supple, and grippy, you would normally have to spend double the amount or more to buy a calfskin or buffalo French saddle. For those of you looking for the best leather on the market in terms of grip and feel, on a small budget, in superb condition, this may be that rare "needle in the haystack" find for you that comes along only once in a great while. Gorgeous saddle that glows with good care.
