Item #PS22C - Prestige 17" Meredith, Full Calfskin, Medium Tree (Can Be Adjusted by Saddler to Narrow through Wide), Very Good Condition

$ 1,095.00

Prestige Meredith 17” Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Wonderful saddle for the rider with champagne taste on a beer budget as this saddle offers a lot of great features for the price point. Seat measures true to size by our tape. Features soft, supple calfskin leather. Features front and back blocks, larger in size for a more secure ride. Flap is a pretty standard length and is forward in position (“A”) and measures approximately 13.5” from the top of the stirrup bar to the bottom of the flap and approximately 14” in width at the widest point. The forward flap is helpful for riders who are long from hip to knee, and/or riders jumping (or with goals of jumping) larger fences where a shorter stirrup length may be desired (which required more room for the knee to go a bit forward as the stirrups are shortened a hole or two).  Tree is a medium (33 cm in this brand) and measures approximately 4 ¼” on the current setting. A wonderful thing about Prestige saddles is that a saddler can adjust the tree over the life of the saddle, giving you fitting options from narrow to wide should you ever need to change the tree size in the future to suit a new horse, a young horse building muscle, or a mature horse with a changing body shape. No billet guards. Very good condition. Made in Dec 2006. I see light rubs on bottom of flaps, small wrinkles in the calfskin (typical for this leather option), signs of nameplate on back of cantle, and some light residue on underside of channel (as if a sticker was there at one point; it’s not sticky to the touch, but I’m hesitant to use anything harsh to remove it as we don’t want to damage the leather.). The tree sizing options make this an especially nice choice for the rider who is leasing a horse, or the rider who is quickly moving up through the ranks and may change mounts every 1-2 years, or the rider who doesn't want to have to buy a different saddle the next time they have a different horse or their horse's shape changes. It's almost unheard of to find a full calfskin saddle in nice condition at this price point, so if it catches your eye you may wish to order for trial sooner rather than later. New over $3,500. Ours just $1095.
