Item #MR1C - MacRider 17.5/18 Grand Prix Pro, Wool-Flocked, Italian Leather, Full Calfskin, Excellent Condition, Tree Can Be Adjusted, Made at End of 2014, Retail $4,195 and up
MacRider Grand Prix Pro Close Contact Saddle. Full calfskin grippy leather. If you are not yet familiar with this gorgeous brand, it is a high-end brand made in Europe with Italian leather. (It reminds me of other high-end Italian brands like Amerigo and Prestige, with features like tree adjustments possible and wool-flocking). We encourage you to visit this link to read the manufacturer's details and description of this model! https://www.macrider.com/saddles/grand-prix-pro/ Measures approximately 17 ¾ - 18” by our tape, so may work for a rider who takes either seat size. Front and back blocks. Has both billet guards. Regular tree. The manufacturer tells us that the tree can be adjusted by a saddler, which gives you additional fitting options for the future should you ever change horses (for instance, MacRider is in Wellington in January through April and can make adjustments there for FL riders, or can send a fitter to other areas to make adjustment. Contact MacRider for a fitter in your area. They have live chat on their website that is very helpful for that!). Flap measures approximately 14” from the top of the buckle where the stirrup leather buckle sits to the bottom of the flap, and approximately 15” in width at the widest point (compares to a long/forward flap 3A/3C in most French brands). Wool-flocked, which means that a saddler can fine-tune the fit to further customize it beyond just tree adjustments to best suit your horse. Excellent condition, I just see a few tiny marks on the underside of panels. If you are looking for a top brand in top condition at less than half the price new, this may be the saddle for you. We are able to bring this model to you at a lower price than comparable French brand simply because it’s a brand that is not as widely marketed via trainer “sponsorships” and thus is not as well-known as competitor brands. Perfect for the rider with champagne taste who still loves a good bargain! Made at the end of 2014, and I'm told only has about 10 rides on it (which is consistent with its stunning condition). Comes with original saddle cover. Price new starts at $4195 and up depending on options chosen. Due to the exceptional value we recommend that if you are interested in test riding this one, order sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment if it goes quickly! $1995.
