Item #DV96C Devoucoux Socoa 16" Full Buffalo, "1" Flap Size, 2008

$ 1,795.00

Devoucoux 16” Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Seat measures true to size by our tape. This is the Socoa model which features a subtle difference from their traditional Biarritz model in that it has a slightly flatter seat and slightly more narrow seat preferred by some riders for freedom of movement  (Devoucoux changed their model names a few years ago; the current version with these features is known as the Biarritz “S” model on their website, as in “Socoa” as compared to their traditional model now known as Biarritz "O").  Features a regular tree (“Arcade Normale”) which is generous enough to fit many horses or ponies with a dot to dot of around 4.5” between the dots (a good size to choose if you want a saddle to fit many horses). Padded flap.  Flap (“1” in serial number) measures approximately 13" in length from the top of the stirrup bar where the buckle sits to the bottom of the flap and approximately 13" in width at the widest point; we note that this is about ½” more generous in length than we typically see on this seat size (so it would be considered slightly long on this 16” saddle, but  standard length on a 16.5” saddle for instance ). Flap is standard position. Front and back blocks. Has both billet guards, the full-length kind which is wonderful for more thorough flap protection from the buckle wear. This is the full buffalo option, the most expensive leather upgrade.  Retail new in the $6,300 neighborhood in this leather option. Made in 2008.  Beautiful condition, you will just see some fine lines in the grain of the leather.  This lovely dark brown color leather resists wear and marking especially well in our experience, which keeps it looking great year after year. Great opportunity to save thousands on a saddle for a young or petite rider. $1795
