Item #DV93C - Devoucoux Socoa 16.5" 2006, Soft Supple Leather, Wide Tree with Free Irons

$ 1,695.00

Devoucoux 16.5” Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Seat measures true to size by our tape. This is the Socoa model, which theoretically is supposed to have a slightly less deep seat than the Biarritz (but rides pretty similar in our opinion). Features a standard flap (2) measuring approximately 13” from the top of the stirrup bar to the bottom of the flap, and approximately 13” in width at the widest point. One of my favorite things about this saddle is that the knee pads are nice and squishy with thicker padding which offers a lot of security to press your knees (helpful when you move up to the next height in jumping, when your horse spooks, or any other time a little extra security is desired) Features front and back blocks. No billet guards. (You can order them from Devoucoux or any other tack shop and slide them on if desired.) Wide tree, measuring approximately 4.5” between the two dots under the pommel, with a generous panel angle, suitable for muscular horses or ponies. Comes with free irons, which have the super grippy wraparound treads added. (These irons are particularly lovely because they look like traditional irons from the rail, but up close there is a very subtle and lovely engraving design, which is kind of fun because it’s traditional from a distance with a touch of beauty up close.)  This saddle comes with a blank brass nameplate attached that is ready and waiting for your  name to be engraved. Soft and supple leather (we are awaiting confirmation from Devoucoux on the leather option). New retails in the $5,000 - $6,000 range.  Made in 2006. Nicely maintained. I see light wear, typical use on billets, and some uneven color on seat (there are a couple of darker areas on seat). Great opportunity to get a lot of performance at a price within reach. $1695
