Item #B79C - Butet 16/16.5 Long Flap 2005 with Free Butet Leathers, and Irons
Butet Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Great saddle for a longer-limbed junior! Stamped 16 and as is common for this brand, measures large at approximately 16.5” by our tape. This is the “L” model, considered deep seat by the manufacturer and considered a half-deep seat in terms of actual feel by most riders (it is actually the middle of 3 seat depths offered by Butet). Hard-to-find long flap on this seat size (2 in this brand), standard flap position. Flap measures approximately 13 ¾” from the top of the stirrup bar where the stirrup leather buckle sits to the bottom of the flap, and approximately 13” in width at the widest point. Padded flap. Front blocks. No billet guards. Tree is regular, measures approximately 4” between the two dots, with a more generous panel angle that the measurement would typically suggest, so may work for horses with an average to high-withered build, and/or those with a higher wither combined with muscular shoulder. I see some faint crazing if I look very closely near cantle (cannot be felt to the touch and is faint enough to be hard to see in photos), rubs on cantle, typical signs of use and signs of previous nameplate on cantle. Comes with Butet leathers and fillis irons with the extra grippy wraps for improved traction. Made in 2005. Retail new is $5,550 for the saddle and $265 for the Butet leathers, plus the cost of irons and wraps for extra grip. Ours just $1795.
