Amerigo DJ Pinerolo 17” Close Contact Jumping Saddle. This is the Pinerolo option which is full calfskin leather for a grippy rider. The DJ model is the “deep jumping” a.k.a. deeper seat model. This is an unbelievable package for the Amerigo fan! Perfect change to get a nearly new saddle for less than half the price new. Goregeous saddle, made in 2018 and only lightly used. Seat measures true to size by our tape. Regular flap length and position, measuring approximately 13” from the top of the stirrup bar where the buckle sits to the bottom of the flap and approximately 14” in width at the widest point. Medium tree. Measures approximately 4 ¼” between the dots, with slightly more built up panels to allow some wither clearance. Here is link to Manufacturer’s info on this model: https://equestrianimports.com/shop/new-saddles/amerigo-dj-saddle/
Features front and back blocks, with slightly larger than average front blocks for a secure ride. Has both billet guards. Comes with Amerigo saddle cover. Has never even had a nameplate on it, so let your be the first. All I see is lightest use, and some lighter areas in the color on billets.
Here is info on the panels from the manufacturer “The stuffing material used inside the panels is a mix of synthetic fibers. Unlike wool, this mixture does not concentrate into lumps, so that there is no pressure on the horse, and the shape is kept more precisely. An independent, stuffed panel system becomes better with use. There is no need to have the saddles re-stuffed as a matter of routine. The panels can be altered along their complete length to ensure continuing good fit should the horse change in shape.” Peter Menet, Saddle Designer
Per Amerigo, this saddle tree can be adjusted by a saddler + or - 1.5 cm, which means that in addition to the current medium tree sizing, you could also adjust in the range between narrow, medium, and medium-wide in case your tree sizing needs should change. (That is a great option as none of us can be sure how long we need a saddle to fit the current horse before they change in musculature, or we get a different horse, etc.)
Comes with a dream package of free extras. Your freebies include getting matching Amerigo leathers ($195) with irons, plus a like-new Henri de Rivel (HdR) 5-point elastic breastcollar with a running martingale attachment that can be added/removed ($138 new), a complete set of 4 Amerigo leather care products plus Amerigo’s fleece applicator mitt ($65), plus original tags and literature. Saddle new is $5,750 alone, plus these extras bring the total retail value to over $6,000. Made in mid-2018. We don’t expect to see another package like this any time soon. Ours just $2,595.
