Item #B81C - Butet 16/17 Forward Flap/Regular Length, 2009, with Calfskin Leathers and Royal Rider Irons

$ 2,395.00

Butet Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Stamped 16 and runs very roomy, measuring approximately 17” by our tape.  This saddle has the feature that made Butet famous, the slender twist on the seat, which many riders find allows their leg to wrap down and around their horse really well (as opposed to feeling perched on top.) Butet is a popular choice for the rider who prefers a close feel of the horse with less bulk between horse and rider. This is the L seat, which is the middle seat depth option in the Butet line (their options are flat, deep, or extra-deep; this is the second option, which we would say rides like a half-deep seat in most brands).  Flap is regular length and forward in position (which is helpful for riders who have trouble with their knee going up to or over the front edge of the flap in most brands). Flap measures approximately 13" from the top of the stirrup bar to the bottom of the flap, and approximately 13" in width across the widest part of the flap.  Tree is regular, measures approximately 4 1/8” between the two dots under the pommel, and in our opinion is most likely to fit average to higher-withered builds.  Padded flap. Front blocks. Has both billet guards.  Comes with free calfskin M. Toulouse leathers (which have my favorite flat-buckle design) as well as free Royal Rider lightweight irons (which have the cheese-grater treads, which in our opinion provdes the best tread grip on the market). I see a darker area on seat, two scratches on the left flap under the stirrup leather area, and two scratches on rear panels (see photos). Made in 2009.  Retail is $5,550 saddle plus  M. Toulouse calfskin leathers $119, and  Royal Rider irons $145 and up. Enjoy this package for less than half the price of new on the saddle alone plus enjoy the free quality fittings! Ours just $2395
