Item #AN103C - Antares 17", Flap for Shorter Rider, **Buffalo** Seat/Knee Pads for Superior Grip, 2014, Excellent Condition

$ 2,795.00

Antares 17” Close Contact Jumping Saddle. Excellent condition, ideal for the rider who wants a saddle in as close to new condition as possible without the wait or cost of ordering new. Great saddle for the rider requiring a shorter flap. Gorgeous saddle. Features extraordinarily soft grippy **buffalo** knee pads and seat (and this buffalo leather came from one of the best batches we have laid eyes on - it is truly superior with an amazing grip to it), with durable French grain flaps. Tree measures generously for a regular tree, suitable for horses on the more muscular side, measuring approximately 4 5/8” to 4 ¾” by our tape between the dots under the pommel. Features the beautiful fancy stitch pattern under the gullet. (No one but you will know it’s there, and it adds a touch of understated elegance.)  Features front and back blocks for a secure ride. Padded flap. Has both billet guards, the attached kind which is a benefit to prevent the billet guards from slipping off the billets when the saddle is not in use. Flap is short and slightly less forward than usual according to stamp on flap (1D), and we note that to our eye the position looks fairly standard. Flap measures approximatey 13” from the top of the stirrup bar where the buckle on the stirrup leathers sits to the bottom of the flap, and approximately 13” in width at the widest point. Comes with fleecy-lined Antares cover. Made in 2014, and looks like a current year model due to the nearly new condition. I just see the signs of previous nameplate, slight darkening at bottom of flaps from lower leg contact, and typical signs of use on billets. (We note that the billets are made from leather with a patterned texture similar to County's elephant print style, so to clarify the lines you see in the photo are not cracking, just the natural grain of the leather on the billets. You can verify this by taking note that the billet holes themselves show barely any use or stretching.) New $5,000 range, ours just $2795. Save thousands and your barn friends will still think you bought it new. Short-flap saddles are incredibly hard to come by, so it may be some time before we can get our hands on another.  If you need a short flap, we recommend ordering for trial sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment if this one goes quickly. $2795
