Item #H15C - Hermes Essentielle 16", Integrated Panels, Excellent Condition, Super Soft Grippy Leather, Retail $6,000
Hermes Essentielle Close Contact Jumping Saddle. If you want a saddle in as close to new condition as possible but without the usual price, this may be your saddle! Excellent condition. Incredibly soft, buttery, grippy leather that came from one of the best batches of leather we have seen to date! The famous narrow twist on Hermes saddles, similar to the twist on a Butet, is known to allow riders to wrap their leg down and around the horse really well (as opposed to feeling perched on top of the horse). We think the Essentielle model is a great choice for the rider who likes a closer feel of the horse (if you like Butet, Tad Coffin, and other similar brands/models that are more streamlined and less bulky, you're on the right track in considering this saddle). Features integrated panels for a closer feel of the horse with less bulk under the rider’s leg. Seat measures approximately 16” by our tape. Padded flap. Front blocks are incorporated into the padded flap. Regular flap length, measuring approximately 12 ¾” from the top of the stirrup bar where the buckle sits to the bottom of the flap; flap position is standard and may also be generous enough to accommodate a longer thigh, measuring approximately 13” in width at the widest point. Regular tree fit, suitable for horses of average build (we note it's more generous than some other Hermes trees). No expense spared in the production of this saddle. It includes latex panels, a more expensive type of panel construction that allows for better molding to the horse with less bulk. (Here is a link to a video on advantages of latex panels featuring another Hermes saddle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4ovf8zKI0c). I do not see a serial number (that I can make out anyway) in the usual place; consignor tells us it was purchased new at Hermes NYC in 2005. (I was surprised to hear that, as in terms of appearance it looks 2015 or newer from as it clearly has only a handful of rides on it. I'd be tempted to purchase this one for myself if it was my seat size!) Has both original billet guards, stamped Hermes. Excellent condition, I just see the signs of previous nameplate on cantle, and some slight darkening on panels under seat. Great opportunity to save thousands and still enjoy top performance and near new condition. Be prepared for envious glances when you walk into the barn with this saddle, as people are going to think you bought it new! New approximately $6,000. Ours just $2295.
